No matter how hard you try, a mouse always finds its way into your home. It’s not ideal, but it’s something most people have to deal with on a daily basis. However, you don’t have to share your property with mice. You can take action and get rid of them permanently. There are lots of simple ways to deal with mice and they aren’t as expensive as you might think. Peppermint essential oil can be an ideal thing to use, but there are also many other things that can help the situation. So, what you can you do to stop mice getting into your property?
Secure the Property Inside And Out
How secure is your property? Do you have fences around the entire outside the property? Have you ensured the mice can’t get into the property from any unplugged gaps or holes? Remember, the property must be secured from the outside in otherwise, the mice will find a way in. A lot of people forget how sneaky mice and other rodents can be; they can find all sorts of ways into the home and that’s why you must do your part to secure it. You have to maintain the home well and ensure every potential problem is fixed. If the mice can’t get in, they will look elsewhere so you’re repelling them in a simple manner.
While peppermint essential oil can be used, there are also other things you can use alongside it. For example, you can use humane traps to capture the mice if they get close to the property. However, you could do this outside the property if you have a large outdoor area and that way you stop them from getting into the actual home. However, you need to check on the traps every so often and reset them once you find a mouse. That being said, humane traps inside the home can also prove effective, but why set a humane trap?
- You don’t kill the mice.
- You don’t deal with the disposal of the mouse.
- You can take the captured mouse to somewhere far away from your premises.
It can often be a lot easier to capture and move a mouse than kill one. Remember, it’s not a pleasant thing to deal with and it’s just not pleasant either. You don’t want to deal with that side of the problem. Also, it can be enough to repel mice away from the property.
Proper Sanitation Is Needed
Poor sanitation brings mice. No matter how many times you use peppermint essential oil or set up a trap, when sanitation isn’t up to scratch, nothing will stop the mice getting in. If you want to repel mice, you can use essential oils such as peppermint, but also, you need to keep on top of sanitation. What that means is keeping garbage in secured bins and ensuring no bins overflows to the point where mice can get into them. If you have issues with outside bins, why not spray peppermint essential oils around them and that will repel the mice from that area. You have to think about keeping the standards up to keep the mice away.
Don’t Be Sloppy In Your Approach
No-one wants to believe their property is at risk of being infested by mice, but it happens! You have to accept it, and it’s more likely to occur when you aren’t keeping up with the maintenance of the property. Of course, mice target clean properties as well, but, it’s even more attractive to mice when things aren’t in good order. However, repelling mice is possible through a variety of things such as essential oils being sprayed, traps and many more things. Do what you can to secure the home and keep the mice away.
